Sexual Exploitation – Arrest: R25-7958

In February 2025, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Counter Exploitation Unit (CEU) began an investigation regarding the sexual exploitation of a teenage female.

The female reported that between November and December 2023, she was befriended by an adult male who took advantage of her vulnerabilities and lured her back to a residence in the area of Graham Avenue and Vaughan Street. While at the residence he provided her with drugs and alcohol and she was sexually assaulted.

CEU continued the investigation and a suspect was identified.

On April 28, 2025, police arrested the male in the 200 block of Vaughan Street.

Kibreab Berhe GEBREKIDAN, a 25-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:

  • Sexual Assault
  • Sexual Interference
  • Obtaining Sexual Services from a Person Under 18 years of age

He was detained in custody.
