Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service update: Good Street Fire

Released: October 9, 2018 at 9 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – At 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of a fire in the 200 block of Good Street. Upon arrival, crews found a well-involved fire in a one and half-storey home. Due to the intensity of the fire, which was burning in the basement, upper floors and the attic, crews were unable to enter the structure and mounted a defensive attack from the exterior. Once significant flames were knocked down, they were able to enter the home and extinguish the remaining fire.

The home was vacant at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.
