Mayor Announces Appointments to Ad Hoc Committees

Mayor Scott Gillingham today announced several appointments to ad hoc committees of City Council.

Chief Administrative Officer Search Committee

The search committee tasked with finding a new permanent CAO will include:

  • Mayor Scott Gillingham
  • Councillor Janice Lukes (Waverley West)
  • Councillor Jeff Browaty (North Kildonan)
  • Councillor Ross Eadie (Mynarski)
  • Councillor Devi Sharma (Old Kildonan)

Budget Working Group

The Budget Working Group will be tasked with the 2025 update of the 2024-27 Multi-Year Balanced Budget. The appointed members are:

  • Councillor Jeff Browaty (North Kildonan)
  • Councillor Evan Duncan (Charleswood – Tuxedo – Westwood)
  • Councillor Vivian Santos (Point Douglas)

Chief Construction Officer Search Committee

The City will soon begin recruitment for its first-ever Chief Construction Officer. The CCO Search Committee will comprise:

  • Councillor Brian Mayes (St. Vital)
  • Councillor Shawn Dobson (St. James)
  • Councillor Jason Schreyer (Elmwood)
  • Brian Kelcey (Mayor’s Office representative)

“Hiring senior officers and updating the budget are significant decisions that all of Council will have a voice in,” said Mayor Gillingham. “I’d like to thank these Councillors for taking on roles that will help guide these important processes. Their expertise and dedication are invaluable as we move forward with our strategic priorities for the city.”
