We hear your feedback: Transit's plan to expand evening On-Request service as soon as December

Winnipeg Transit On-Request bus
We’ve shared a plan to expand evening On-Request service to 2 a.m. on weekdays and Saturday.

A plan to extend evening On-Request service is now before City Councillors. If approved, later hours would go into effect on December 14, 2025.

Since we revamped our bus system, we've heard a lot of feedback about a need for more evening service in some areas. In response, Council asked Transit to come up with options to improve evening service.

A full plan to extend evening service on select fixed routes starting in April is still in the works. But extending schedules for On-Request is less complicated and can be done faster, so we're sharing that aspect of the plan as soon as possible.

Subject to approval, here's what changes to On-Request will look like, come December 14:

  • All zones that currently operate after 7 p.m. would extend service until around 2 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays
  • On Sundays and holidays, those zones would operate until around 12:45 a.m.
  • Boundaries for Zone 103 would expand so passengers can take On-Request to Garden City Shopping Centre

The changes would go into effect on December 14, the first day of our winter schedule. Hours for daytime-only On-Request zones (104 and 110) would not change.

You can read more about the proposed On-Request extension in this report.

Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback on our new transit system so far. You can share yours by filling out our online form.
